William M. Thomas, Jr., DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Thomas was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his B.S. and DVM degrees at Auburn University. After graduating, Dr. Thomas decided to move out to California because the economy was doing well and he knew the opportunity would allow him to practice better veterinary medicine.

Dr. Thomas has been a doctor here at Midtown for over 30 years. His personal pets include a Labrador, a French Bulldog, a Corgi, a cat, and a fish. His dogs accompany Dr. Thomas on all of his camping adventures, including trips to the lake and the desert.

In his spare time, Dr. Thomas loves the great outdoors including camping, boating, and ocean fishing at Channel Islands. Dr. Thomas loves working with his hands, especially woodworking. His excellent carpenter skills actually funded his college education.

Miguel Castro, RVT

Miguel Castro, RVT

Veterinary Technician

Miguel is the friendly face that you have been seeing at Midtown since 1991!

He was born and raised in Cali, Colombia, and went to school in both Colombia and the United States to become a registered veterinary technician.

He currently does not own any pets, but he has previously been the happy owner of a dog, a cat, and a hamster. Out of the office, you will see Miguel riding his bike, playing soccer, and finding any chance to bust a move.

Janna Hodgkins

Janna Hodgkins, RVT

Veterinary Technician/Practice Manager

Janna was born in Northridge and raised in Simi Valley. After moving around SoCal quite a bit, she landed back at home to work towards a career in veterinary medicine. She recently completed her education and testing to become a registered veterinary technician.

Janna owns a Blue Nose Pitbull named Sampson. The two love to go swimming in the summer, and finish the day with some belly rubs and a good cuddle.

In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses and scuba diving. If staying in, she is either wrapping her head around a good puzzle or competing in billiards tournaments.

Sam ferber

Sam ferber

Vet Assistant

Sam was born in Tarzana, California and raised in Agoura Hills. Realizing she prefers analyzing animals over people, Sam is currently earning her Associates of Science degree to become a veterinary technician.

Sam has a Chihuahua mix named Pickle. Pickle is a homebody who enjoys watching TV shows that feature other dogs.

In her spare time, Sam enjoys sunny So-Cal activities like hiking, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking.

Arianna

hayden

Receptionist/Vet Assistant

Hayden was born and raised in Thousand Oaks and is currently in her first year of college studying Exotic Animal Training and Management.

She’s always loved animals—she’s volunteered with horses, helped with riding lessons, and now shares her home with three dogs, six chickens (whose eggs she loves to steal on a regular basis), and one snake.

Her long term goals are to work with animals and travel the world someday.

When she’s not with her pets, Hayden enjoys going to the gym, hiking, camping, and drawing. We have already had a chance to witness her exceptional artistic abilities!
